8. For Honor

The first new IP to make its way onto Ubisoft's plate this E3, 'For Honor' possesses all the trappings of a truly inventive property, and is mostly selling itself on its brutal and historical based PVP combat. Players can take on the roles of either a Viking, a Samurai, or a medieval Knight, in adversarial modes that are just as much about brains as they are about brawn. If anything was made clear by the demo it was that Ubisoft are aiming to reward the more cautious and tactical of players who take their time when dismembering their foes - not ones who charge in with little thought or care for their actions. On top of a great pitch by Montréal's creative director, Jason Vandenberg, For Honor made a great first impression on gamers across the globe. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
