E3 2016: 10 Outrageous Rumours We Hope Come True

Every single year, the E3 rumour mill creaks back into life and yields all manner of wonderful speculation. A great majority of the predictions and suggestions for what the conference will hold comes from reasonable sources and developer information, but that doesn't mean there's not still plenty of craziness that populates the preamble.

And while many of these outrageous rumours are just too unbelievable to yield any truth, that in turn doesn't mean that plenty of these are worth holding out hope for. Everyone has their hopes and dreams for a new year's E3 reveals, and sometimes the most outlandish suggestions are the ones that get the best backing from fans and eager viewers.

Now, as most sources are focussing their energies on predictions for what the confirmed E3 conferences will offer, we want to give some more time to those wondrous wildcards.

To that end, I'm going to talk through 10 of the most 'out there' rumours that have popped up in the past few months, and think about just why these would be truly incredible if they were to come off.

Here are ten outrageous rumours that I hope prove to be true when E3 2016 kicks off next week.

10. Red Dead 3/Redemption 2

Many people have been discussing the prospect of a Red Dead Redemption sequel since... well, pretty much since the last game was just a few weeks old. Most people have dubbed this expected prospect 'Red Dead Redemption 2', but a few more recent rumours suggest that it may be coming under a different moniker.

We previously brought you news of suggestions that the next game in the Red Dead series would simply be known as 'Red Dead 3', with these presumably being geared towards helping the longevity of titles in the series. The "R" wording at the end of the titles in the previous two entries will seemingly be dropped, allowing Rockstar greater ease of naming when adding further sequels.

While it may be a jarring change for players who only joined the series with Red Dead Redemption, in reality this makes numbered sense. The main reason for hoping this change comes true, however, is quite simply for the potential promise of even more Red Dead games that would come with it.

If Rockstar are looking to make a strange - yet simple - change to allow the series to become a more regular feature like GTA, then we surely have to be in favour of that!
