4. Xbox One X Launches For $499

Geoff Keighley leaked shortly before the Microsoft conference that the Xbox One X would launch for $499, and though many suspected this was actually a calculated PR leak to make an actual $399 announcement seem more attractive, the Dorito Pope ended up being totally on the money.

The Xbox One X launches for $499 on November 7th, which while a decent price for the hardware inside the box, is simply so much steeper than the competition, and considering that the console doesn't even have any exclusive games, many will struggle to justify such a lavish expense.

At least Microsoft seems aware that it will be an enthusiast unit rather than a sales juggernaut, but still, that price tag is much higher than gamers are used to shelling out for, and they rightly responded with concern.
