E3 2017: 6 Ups & 6 Downs From Sony's Conference
5. It Was Only An Hour Long
A running trend throughout this year's E3 conferences has been a curtailed length, and Sony's show was no different, clocking in at just barely an hour in total. Yes, it had almost zero business chatter, but the conference could've easily run another half-hour without outstaying its welcome, especially considering the various announcements that were made both before and after the show.
Surely it was worth announcing Knack 2's release date (September 5th) on the Sony stage? And revealing that Coco is a playable character in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy? And what about Undertale coming to PS4? These things were instead quietly announced outside of the conference and therefore could easily have been missed.
Yes, Sony are the confident market leaders, and while the conference didn't show them getting complacent, they definitely could've put much more effort into a bigger-scale conference.
