E3 2017: 7 Reasons Sony Must Release A New PSP
1. The Switch Is Doing Brilliantly - So Too Could Sony
Coming second place to the Nintendo DS in the portable market was no small achievement for the PSP back in the early 2000s. What's more, the desire for high-quality portable gaming is still here in the late 2010s because of the initial strong sales of the Switch.
The PS4 Pro has had a fairly soft launch and everyone is hungry for what's promised to be the world's most powerful console in the form of Project Scorpio. So why not get hardware engineers building a new PSP that can offer one better than Nintendo and simultaneously dampen the reveal of the Scorpio?
Portable play of PlayStation exclusives would be great, especially now the exclusive library on PS4 has been built up. Whether through streaming PS4 games to this newly-theorised portable or having handheld versions of great games like Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, Until Dawn, Bloodborne, and Uncharted 4, the future could be bright for Sony in the portable space.
