E3 2017: 8 Ups & 7 Downs From Microsoft's Conference

1. Anthem Steals The Show

The center-piece of Microsoft's show was Anthem, BioWare's new sci-fi action-RPG that debuted the night prior during EA's conference. The trailer made it clear that the game is a co-op open-world title, and touted easily the most impressive visuals of any game on display at the show, putting that Xbox One X tech to good use.

With customisable exo-suits called Javelins, multiple class types and the ability to travel underwater, Anthem looks like another ambitious step forward for BioWare, and basically explains why Mass Effect: Andromeda ended up being pawned off to a B-studio. This is where all that good money went. It remains to be seen whether or not the end product can live up to its impressive presentation, but it's certainly a promising start.
