E3 2019: 20 Huge Video Game Announcements You Need To Know
6. Halo Infinite Is A Project Scarlett Launch Title
Microsoft capped off their conference with an extended look at the long-awaited next entry into the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite, which was of course first announced at last year's E3.
Sadly, Microsoft's trailer consisted only of ambiguously-termed "game engine footage" and not actual gameplay, though given the game's now-confirmed release window, it at least makes sense why.
Though some fans hoped that Infinite would release ahead of Project Scarlett and end up a cross-play game between generations, Microsoft confirmed it to be a Scarlett launch title, meaning fans will have to wait until holiday 2020 to play it for themselves.
If the trailer truly is representative of the series' new Slipspace Engine, then it's certainly impressive.
Microsoft also later answered many fans' prayers by adding that Infinite will feature split-screen support, as was missing from Halo 5: Guardians much to fans' frustration.
