EA Sports UFC: 10 Highest Rated Fighters

7. Georges St. Pierre

Overall: 95Striking: 96Grappling: 96 Submissions: 91 Georges St. Pierre is without doubt one of the all time greats and is arguably still one for the best pound-for-pound fighters. With a record of 25-2, it is clear that George St. Pierre's history against elite fighters reflects his own elite skill. St. Pierre defended his Welterweight belt a total of 9-times against tough challengers such as Nick Diaz, Carlos Condit and Jake Shields (all of whom were champions in other promotions). Georges St. Pierre is renowned for using his high level wrestling ability to control and smother fighters from the opening bell. He has always been able to outwork his opponents thanks to his other-worldly cardio. His striking ability is also fantastic and he often uses his kicks to create distance between himself and his opponent €“ indeed his background in martial arts started with karate as his father was an instructor in Canada. While we haven't seen GSP utilise his submission skills too much it must also be noted that he is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, warranting him his 91-rating. GSP finally opted to step-down from his title position as an incredibly tough defence against Johny Hendricks made him realise his heart was no longer in the sport.
