With the rise of fighters like Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm, the UFC has helped put female athletes on the map like never before. These fighters offer a positive influence to young women around the world, people who may have previously felt that females weren't cast in a strong light in MMA. Thanks to EA SPORTS UFC 2, the fairer sex can live out their virtual dreams too.

One thing that was lacking from the first title was the ability to create female fighters. Women were featured in the game, which marked a first for the MMA video game genre, but players couldn't create their own and go from there. That's something EA SPORTS have sought to rectify, realising that it was a common complaint amongst gamers who picked up the first game.

Now, not only will female fighters be part of the creation suite, they will also be usable in the Career Mode. That's a significant leap forward for EA SPORTS, and it shows they've been listening to comments on social media and on their own forums. For the first time ever, female fight fans can digitally recreate their own MMA career. That's awesome.
