Elden Ring: 17 Tips & Tricks The Game NEVER Told You
16. Weather Boosts Damage Output
The first Breath of the Wild-ian mindset to apply to Elden Ring comes from weather - which is to say that like Nintendo's open world masterwork in 2017, lightning itself can be your friend.
Where in that game, placing a metal item on the ground would see it struck and exploded by lightning, here, if it's raining at all, lightning damage across the board goes up. It means enemies can hit harder too, but know that rain also weakens fire magic and fire weapons.
Lastly, there's a very rare "weather effect" comprised of 'golden flakes' floating around the player. If you see this, kill as many enemies and animals as possible, as this effect means that your Rune/currency acquisition is heightened for the duration.
