Elden Ring: 17 Tips & Tricks The Game NEVER Told You
14. A Torch On Your Back Still Maintain Its Effects
Elden Ring is home to a bevy of different torches - your basic flame-topped ones, others that repel beasts. There's even one that'll let you see the various invisible assassins dotted around cathedrals, waiting to get the drop on you.
However, while it's assumed you need to have torches equipped to trigger their effects, you can actually equip say, in your left hand, then hit triangle/Y and R1/RB (in this case) to dual wield your other weapon now in both hands, placing the "active" torch on your back.
While the flame will extinguish, the effect is still present. Sentry Torches still reveal invisible enemies, and Beast-Repellant Torches stop "beast type enemies" from attacking. If a pesky pack of dogs, rats or bears is in your way, this is how you get by without getting mauled, or being able to hit harder in return if you still want to farm Runes.
