When it comes to Indiana Jones games, the true Holy Grail is Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Combining both an original narrative with the SCUMM engine at its peak, Fate of Atlantis stands as one of LucasArts best, let alone a top Indy tale.

The beautifully animated story of Indy venturing out to discover the fate of the lost city is largely dialogue driven, with the CD version of the game featuring full voice acting compared to the text only Floppy Disc edition. There's a couple of points where the action kicks in too, such as having to cross a dangerous lava pit or a typical punch up or two, but for the most part players must use their wits to solve complex puzzles and numerous dialogue trees that can lead down different directions in the story, with multiple paths again driven by the IQ points system.

Fate of Atlantis found the famed adventure creators in their prime, resulting in not only one of Indiana's best adventures but one of their best SCUMM games period. If you're a fan of Monkey Island or any of the classics, you'd do well to track this one down and give it a try.
