15. Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Kick
Ubisoft

Release Date: Oct. 5th

Continuing AC: Origins' revamped approach to the Assassin's Creed mould, Odyssey is doubling down on melee combat and more action-oriented elements.

Origins' biggest change was taking a page out of Dark Souls' book on third-person action, dropping the camera behind your character and focusing on dodging and positioning. Odyssey looks to bolster this with more animations centred on parrying and turtling around enemies - the crux of battle hinging on when to pull off a rotating set of four new special moves.

Large-scale factional warfare is also in when it comes to overtaking parts of the map, and though it's a shame the hidden blade has been replaced by the tip of Leonidas' spear, Odyssey looked incredibly confident from front to back.
