When it comes to basketball games, EA and 2K have been going at it on an annual basis with the NBA Live series and the NBA 2K franchise, respectably. That rivalry took an odd turn this year as NBA Live 20 got quietly cancelled without much reasoning behind it.
Could it be that EA had handed in the towel and let 2K remain victor?
No, it actually turned out the publisher wanted to go more ambitious with their next NBA Live instalment.
They have outright canned this year's instalment in order to focus their resources on creating a next-gen console entry with NBA Live 21 officially confirmed as coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X machines.
