EVERY Resident Evil Game Ranked Worst To Best

25. Resident Evil Survivor

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City Nemesis
Capcom

As the debut Resident Evil first person shooter, Resident Evil Survivor was released on the PlayStation in 2000. Trying to expand the series out into other genres was a novel concept after the original trilogy came to an end. It was also the first spin-off game, featuring a narrative that didn't pertain to series canon. Playing as an amnesiac pilot battling his way through a hidden Umbrella facility on Sheena Island following the destruction of Racoon City.

Unfortunately, the end result didn't turn out too well; the game faced heavy criticism for its weak offering compared with other FPS games. The controls were sluggish, not allowing the player to strafe, look up or down or reload outside of the menus. The graphics were also especially unpolished, bringing low-res PS1 models up close

With its weak story, ugly graphics and stilted gameplay, Survivor didn't have much of a leg to stand on. It stood as the lowest-rated Resident Evil game for years after its release. American audiences were especially displeased at its lack of light-gun support, a key component in the European and Japanese releases. The first entry in the trilogy stands as the weakest of the three Survivor titles for how limited and basic it is
