EVERY Resident Evil Game Ranked Worst To Best

24. Resident Evil Survivor 2 - Code Veronica

Releasing one year after the first game, Survivor 2 marked itself as a slight improvement on what had come before. The game took players on re-run of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, casting players as Claire Redfield and her antsy sidekick Steve as they fight their way through two different modes. Arcade mode sees the two racing to escape Rockford Island, while Dungeon mode relies more on wave-based defending and snagging a high score. In an effort to add a twist on Veronica's formula, the second Resident Evil FPS saw Nemesis make a surprise appearance, chasing players to the level exits if they ran out of time.

There were two versions available in 2001; an arcade cabinet and the PlayStation 2 entry, with the former boasting light-gun support and the latter using NAMCO's GunCon 2 peripheral. Despite adding new features and tightening the gameplay overall, Survivor 2 still doesn't have much to offer, considering how its story and setting were pulled directly from an already existing title and forced into a less complex genre. Based on its aging tech, you're unlikely to find it in any amusement hall nowadays; it offered some mild enjoyment on its release, but didn't hold player attention for long
