Luis Fernando Lopez is atypical of many GTA protagonists in that he's heading in the opposite direction; his ultimate goal is to leave a life of crime behind and enjoy a legitimate career. This gives The Ballad Of Gay Tony a very interesting dynamic, as Luis constantly attempts to escape his old life, yet is constantly sucked back into a world of bank heists, debt collectors, and underground cage fighting. Luis is also one of the most likeable protagonists Rockstar have ever produced. He's strong and masculine, in a typical GTA manner, but cares deeply for his mother and friends. It may seem a small point, but the fact that he accepts Tony as a friend and father figure without making a big deal of his homosexuality speaks volumes, especially in the morally corrupt Grand Theft Auto universe.
