Everything Xbox Series X Does BETTER Than PS5
2. Affordability
This is more for the Series S, as while the SX is matching PS5 at a £449/$499 price point, it's all to play for as Microsoft are offering a super cheap next-gen console for just £249/$299.
For that you get all the bells and whistles of Microsoft's brand new auto-HDR, upscaling tech for your library of games, and the knowledge that whatever comes across the entire next generation, it'll be supported on Series S.
The knock-on effect is that the Series S is a less powerful machine that the Series X, but there's no getting around that price point.
Even Sony couldn't match it as their digital PS5 dropped to £349/$399, though in this case you are getting a Series X-level "high end system" for £100/$100 more than the Series S.
As Xbox's Phil Spencer thinks the Series S will outsell the SX over time though, clearly he's confident this ultra-cheap price point is a worthy investment for the next cycle.
