Fallout 4: 10 Essential Features It Must Have
"Hype. Hype never changes."
Confirmed last year as definitely being in development, since then fans and critics alike routinely dip back into the well of fan-hype to discuss our most wanted - and most needed - features for the next game. It was all-but confirmed to show up at E3 back in June too, but for one reason or another there wasn't a Wastelander in sight, let alone anything playable or in-depth. In many ways - as hard as it may be to admit - the delay is a good thing, because although they're always enjoyed and loved regardless, you'd just be out and out lying if you said Bethesda have released their self-developed titles bug-free over the last few years. And so with any luck this six year-plus wait means they're pulling a Rockstar and making sure part four is everything fans want and more before unveiling it to the masses. It's also up for debate what sort of direction the series is going to go with this new one, as it was the third main instalment that really made everyone sit-up and take notice thanks to the might of then-new developer Bethesda's programming prowess - much to the chagrin of a certain number of fans. Gone was the top-down isometric view, replaced by their Elder Scrolls-style first-person combat and general approach to world exploration. Sure it gave the series what it needed to leapfrog the competition and sit atop some of the greatest games of all time, but now as we look towards the next instalment there's a wealth of questions that need answering, and key features that must be addressed along the way.
