Fallout 4: 10 Lessons It Must Learn From New Vegas
4. Bring Back Three Dog
Totally under appreciated in Fallout 3, it wasn't until New Vegas filled the airwaves with the creatively titled Mr New Vegas, did the Capital Wasteland's most famous disc jockey become so sorely missed. Given the game's setting in an entire world that's torn itself apart, it wouldn't have been inconceivable for radio stations to be overlooked entirely by the developers, but piping in some music for players to listen to was a nice touch. Adding a genuinely pirate-vibe to the whole thing really put players in the heart of a world where technology is scant and ingenuity is rife. Given the contrast of the would-be President pumping out pre-recorded propaganda, radio in Fallout 3 helped with the immersion and added character. Fallout New Vegas didn't quite pull this off though, and it left the Mojave airwaves feeling insubstantial and artificial. Good news then that the man behind the character, Erik Todd Dellums, recently tweeted that had done "something that will hopefully make all #ThreeDog fans smile!" .That's about as close to a Fallout teaser as it's possible to get with Bethesda.
