Fallout 4: 10 Small Problems That Stop It Being Perfect
9. All The Factions Are Far Too Trusting
Some may point towards Fallout's hilarious bugs and glitches as being the title's main source of comedy, but it is the series' characters that create its funniest aspects. With the exception of the Railroad (who actually show some hesitation in regards to taking in the sole-survivor after they miraculously 'follow the freedom trail' to their hideout), every faction in the game naively assumes that you're dedicated to the cause, whilst also lampooning said naivety through comically self-aware dialogue. For instance, if one chooses to join up with the Brotherhood in order to acquire power armour, Danse will remark how he's "taking a big risk" promoting you so early, and the main power armour technician will plainly state that "most come here for the power armour and leave." I even proclaimed my unrestrained contempt for the BOS through dialogue options, yet still got all this armour bestowed upon me anyway. In that sense dialogue can often feel inconsequential, which makes one of Fallout's best aspects - the journey getting to the end - only cosmetically distinguishable through different playthroughs.
