Fallout 4: 10 Things That Must Happen In 2015

3. Platform Exclusivity

The console wars in 2014 are most definitely heating up, and with Microsoft snatching up Tomb Raider and Minecraft going forward, it looks like a return to system exclusivity is the way things are going. To be honest it's the best thing for the industry, as back when Final Fantasy was a Sony franchise and Mass Effect belonged to Microsoft, it really created a fervent sense of competition and allegiance that in the end helped each rival company outdo the other to retain its fans. Being that the state of the industry is on a bit of a downer after a year where no one game is on the level of the greats from the preceding few, if either company ensnared some sort of exclusivity deal with Bethesda for either DLC or even the entire game, having that in their back pocket might be the key to winning this console wars. Not to get too hyperbolic, as even though getting that element of an exclusive property back up and running would do very well for the heads of the industry, it would mean console owners would have to side with one or the other to get the full product. A mention of exactly how this is going to go - and as the game's been developed for so long, whether there'll be a version for older console owners at all - is something Bethesda need to clear up in the aftermath of last year.
