Fallout 76: 9 Past Franchise Problems It Can Finally Fix
3. World-Affecting Faction Integration
Where New Vegas introduced joining a number of factions that then affected trade discounts and how NPCs addressed us, Fallout 4 pretty much wiped the slate clean, still letting you join, but without any gameplay incentive.
In Fallout 76, factions are yet to be detailed, but we can say two things - one of which is confirmed:
1. As the first online Fallout, even joining up to the Brotherhood of Steel or other factions in the land will have an immediate impact on how your character can look - not to mention how you're perceived by the world itself. Taking quests for reputable entities should change your path through the full game, be it through weapons, armour or quest items binding groups of players together.
2. We know that groups of players can band together to nab nuclear codes from specific silos, firing actual nukes off into the world that can take out other settlements. This isn't tied to larger factional warfare, but as part of this mechanic is then raiding the nuclear blast site to grab gear, you're likely to have a much easier time buddying up with your fellow clansmen.
