Fallout: Where Bethesda Went Wrong
New Vegas Reaches New Heights For Fallout
Set in the arid Mojave Desert. New Vegas initially sees players set out across the wasteland to find those responsible for shooting you in the head and leaving you for dead at the start of the game.
However, it doesn’t take long for players to become sucked into the three-way struggle for control that’s gripped the area, with you being placed right in the middle of it. Which factions you choose to side with and how they will impact the world is down to the choices you make along the way.
Throw in a selection of exceptional DLC that arrived over the next year (especially New World Blues) and it’s easy to see why there was plenty of anticipation and excitement for what could come next for the series. Unfortunately, though, Bethesda made their first big misstep with Fallout 4.
Announced at Bethesda’s 2015 E3 conference, Fallout 4 was set to be the studio’s most ambitious and biggest game to date as you navigate the ruins of downtown Boston in search of your kidnapped son, interacting with various factions and pulling at a narrative thread that goes much further than you initially think.
