Far Cry 5: 10 Things We Can't Wait To Do
6. Skewer Cultists With Pitchforks (And Other Melee Weapons)
Taking a page out of Far Cry Primal's book, the upcoming sequel is said to have a much bigger emphasis on melee combat than previous releases, featuring handheld weapons you can use to whack or launch at incoming enemies.
However, it's also been revealed that a lot of the arsenal in the game will be inspired by the DIY, rural setting itself, meaning you'll be using everyday items to bash the brains of your enemies in with. While a couple have been shown off in trailers so far, with baseball bats being particularly prominent, it's the ability to skewer cultists with pitchforks that looks the most fun.
Although throwing knives have been a staple of the franchise for a while, until now you haven't been able to run around, pitchfork in hand, slicing through bad guys in quick succession only to then launch your weapon at the final guy who's a second away from riddling you with bullets.
It's not a huge change, but by making the weapons appropriate to the setting, Far Cry 5's combat should feel far more visceral than anything else in the series.
