Far Cry Primal Hands-On Review - 9 Things You Need To Know
4. The Environment Is As Dynamic As Far Cry 2
Once over, the Far Cry series was the pinnacle of dynamic environments. Hell, I specifically remember one preview video for Far Cry 2 boasting about the fact that branches of trees would grow back in real time if you happened to shoot them off. That's how dedicated the team was to creating a world that reacted to your destruction. Although those elements were still there in the next two releases, they took a back seat to the more sophisticated gun-play and traversal goodies you could get your hands on. However, with Primal, that sense of environmental scale is back with the ability to transform the game's surroundings into your deadliest weapon. Once again, fire is a huge ally, the ability to set anything up in a blaze offering a huge amount of potential for in-game attacks. You don't have rocket launchers or machine guns to help you out, so these more unassuming and intelligent assaults are going to be essential in making the most out of your experience.
