FIFA 12 is Highest Grossing Sports Video Game Ever

Notching up its fifth consecutive week at the summit of the charts and seventh since launch, the annual series has now well and truly laid to rest any debate on the ultimate football game.

In somewhat unsurprising news, the staggering success story of EA Sports' FIFA 12 has ratcheted up a notch with the confirmation that the multi-platform title has become the UK's highest grossing sports title ever, an award that will look good next to the 'fastest selling sports game ever' award taken upon first week release last year.

Notching up its fifth consecutive week at the summit of the charts and seventh since launch, the annual series has now well and truly laid to rest any debate on the ultimate football game, with main rival Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 languishing well behind in both sales and critical scores. Elsewhere, Skyrim moved up to second in the UK charts, whilst the hideously neglected Rayman Origins made a welcome appearance into the Top 10. Full top 40 chart can be found at Eurogamer.
