FIFA 13: 10 Alternative Football Games To Play

3. Mega Man Soccer (Super Nintendo)

Choo-Choo!!! All aboard the sell out train. Mega Man Soccer arrived on the Super Nintendo in 1994. The Mega Man franchise had always been wildly popular on the Nintendo (well, except for Mega Man 7€which is another story) and Nintendo/Capcom had just come off the heels of the insanely hot Mega Man X which came out at the end of 1993. So what do they do? They decide to send the blue bomber onto the pitch for some high-flying, robot filled, soccer action€.and you know what? I liked it. Capcom gave the game a story, saying it took place after Mega Man 4 and that Mega Man needed to save the world aga€blah, blah, blah€It was soccer, with Mega Man, and special robot powers€. awesome. The game was relatively deep as well. There were four abilities that each character had: running, kicking, tackling, and defense. This came into play when deciding on the perfect team to build. The €œCapcom Championship€ mode took you through the eight robot masters stages and had you defeating their teams and acquiring their special abilities. Some of my favorites were Cut Man€™s and Fire Man€™s. Fire Man€™s special ability set the ball aflame and whoever was kicked with it was stunned€simple, yet affective. Where the game lacked was in the controls department. The controls were just not very good. You will talk to people and they will probably tell you to avoid Mega Man Soccer at all costs. If you can find a copy then you should try it for yourselves. Maybe I was biased because anything the blue bomber was on; I had to have as a child.
