7. Defence Is The Best Form Of Attack
Another annoyance that probably only affects Virtual Pro and Team Play matches: players that play out of position. Due to the nature of Virtual Pro and Team Play, you tend to have 11 people vying for 6 outfield positions (midfielders and strikers). This game of musical chairs doesn't sit well with many. To compensate, those who lose out - instead of quitting and finding another lobby - often choose to play as a defender. However, they have no intention of staying a defender. Many a time you will see defenders running up the pitch and player as a striker. It's annoying as hell. It ruins any sort of formation, and if you are a midfielder, you tend to be asked(more like told) by the game to cover for the out of position player. Ruining your player rating (as positioning affects the rating). So these players truly end up hurting you gaming experience. Sometimes you'll even get midfielders acting as strikers. The worst of all though, is when you get a goalkeeper who wants to play everywhere on the pitch. These goalkeepers tend to run around the pitch like headless chicken (granted, this isn't limited to goalkeepers, but it sure is more obvious) chasing the ball. They'll tackle anywhere and everywhere, and they'll run up the pitch to score goals too. This is a very grating situation when the person is on your team. When they're on the opposing team though, it's party time (especially since it can help with some of the achievements you need)!
