12. Tom Cleverley, Manchester United (78)
Much like Arsenal, there are quite a few players from United's ranks who have received poor ratings this year. With midfielder Cleverley receiving a lackluster 78, he joins Phil Jones in sharing the same rating, whilst Rafael (77) was also overlooked. It was the rating afforded to Cleverley though that seems most unfair. One of Team GB's more impressive players at the summer Olympics, he would have made more than the 15 appearances he managed for United last season but for a spate of injuries. At 23, he has already been capped for England, and in the aftermath of Paul Scholes' retirement from football prior to the 2010/11 season, was heralded as a homegrown replacement for the midfield maestro. Boss Sir Alex Ferguson heaped praise on him after a pre-season friendly with then Euro Champs Barcelona, calling him "the best player on the pitch" in his sides 2-1 win.
