3. Online Goalkeepers Ability
The Problem: I dont complain about the difficulty of the opposition goalkeeper in manager mode, thats a good challenge and adds to the realism if the goal keeper is a particularly good one. However if Im playing someone online, I have 20 shots on target and 60% of the possession and am clearly the better player; I refuse to draw due to their goal keeper having a performance as miraculous as Kerry Katonas continuing career. A performance the player on the other end of the game has no control over. Its not an issue when youre playing the computer; because thats entirely simmed. However when youre outclassing someone in every way other than their only simmed player stopping you it isnt a true measure of the contest.
The Solution: A linking of the performance from the outfield players to the performance of the goal keeper; for example connecting how well the goalie plays to the pass completion percentage. If the other player is better than you that isnt your fault but if you play badly and invite the pressure on then your goal keeper shouldnt be playing at full potential to thwart the better player.
