FIFA 14: 5 Most Annoying Things That Almost Ruin It
4. Headed Goals Still Come Too Frequently
Now, this is clearly a part of the game to love, as long as it's you scoring the headers, but when you see the computer or indeed an online player take advantage of the extreme likelihood of a headed goal from a cross against you, it boils the blood. Hypocritical maybe, but that's online play. This problem is not anywhere near as bad as it initially was when the game launched - it was initially frustratingly unplayable until a couple of updates, especially against the computer. The initial problem was that a cross could be met by an attacker of any height or strength, regardless of how tall or strong the defender was, or his position. Then when the header was made, the keeper would just stand and watch it go by and then dive to inevitably miss, even if the ball was travelling immensely slowly. It made no sense at all, and was horribly jarring for even veteran players. Now though, the problem still exists but with substantial improvements. The keeper is much more reliable for realistic saves to headers and the emphasis is rightly given to tall and strong attackers. But still, it's hard not to still feel like it is still too easy to score/concede from headers. Naturally there are advantages: sometimes it's good to score a set piece when playing against a decent team who squeeze play and stop your usual game, but then at other times the player is rendered powerless when trying to defend them, which, inevitably, is extremely annoying. It's a bittersweet problem, but one that definitely needs addressing for Fifa 15.
As a recent university graduate and a huge supporter of Celtic FC, what better way to use my inevitable free time to write about my favourite football team? I'll cover most things that the supporters are talking about at the moment, which includes things that directly and indirectly involve the club. At times I may also stray into matters concerning English clubs.
