FIFA 14: 5 Future Improvements FIFA 15 Must Have

4. Skill Games That Actually Require Skill

Fifaskill I have to hand it to EA, the introduction of skill games to the franchise last year was a masterstroke. These mini-games ranged from chipping footballs into bins to hitting targets with a cross or a shot, and not only did they help hone our skills, but they also helped us pass the time while sitting through a loading screen. However, my gripe here is that a lot of them require transcendent knowledge rather than skill itself. For example, there's one skill game in '14 that puts you in goal, and requires you to save penalties. Initially, there's a blue reticule showing you where the ball is going to go, and you merely have to dive in that direction. But after three tries, the reticule vanishes, meaning you have no idea where the ball is going to go, meaning now it's a complete guessing game that boils down to dumb luck. And that's where the skill games begin to fall away.
