5. Patience Is The Key
FIFA 14 has come in for criticism in the months since its release over how slow and sluggish it feels, with packed defences thwarting your attackers and boring, bogged-down midfield battles. If you're just starting up, or playing on one of the slightly higher difficulty settings, you'll probably find you'll encounter more than a few 0-0 and 1-0 results. This can be frustrating, particularly when you're trying to sprint with the ball only to find you're dragging weights, and it can be annoying when stubborn defences refuse to give you even a yard of space to fire off a shot or cross. The key is to exercise patience; wait to pick out that key pass when the opposition becomes fatigued and unlock their defence. Passing it around in midfield Barcelona-style and waiting for your opportunity can pay off.
