1. More Realistic Shooting Mechanics
One of the biggest changes to the franchise however is the "Pure Shot Mechanic" which completely revolutionises the way players strike the ball. Down the years, we've all watched on as we've taken a pot-shot on goal, only for the ball to glide toward the target following a completely flat trajectory. Now, any fan of the beautiful game will attest to the fact that no one players hits exactly the same shot twice (unless it's Nani) yet in FIFA games of old, a lot of the shots tended to adhere to some sort of pre-scripted formula whereby shots repeated themselves and therefore detracted from the magic of scoring a goal. The good news then is that EA are addressing this, with the new "pure shot" feature that makes shooting on goal a lot more unpredictable. The game's developers have watched and studied ball physics and have implemented this into the game. Now, we can expect to see the ball dip in the air and change according to the direction of the wind. That means we will start to see some unlikely howitzers that catch the keeper unawares as the ball bends into the top corner. Thanks to this feature, shooting is a lot more fun again, and we will no longer see that same, repeated, boring shot at goal ever again.
