Wayne Rooney might feel a little hard done by this September. A decade after appearing in a Manchester United shirt on the FIFA console for the first time, the Scouse-born forward has officially been demoted for the first time by EA Sports chiefs. The poster boy for the video game for years, Rooney served as something of a promoter for years, so he will feel a little let down by the fact that he has been listed outside the top 20 as he enters the prime of his career. He will argue that he was Manchester United's only ray of light last season in a horrific term of low points and dreadful performances. Following Sir Alex Ferguson's parting gift of letting slip that the former Everton boy wonder was seeking an exit from Old Trafford, Rooney instead knuckled down and turned in a top-notch season for the Red Devils, excelling in the absence of Robin van Persie on a multitude of occasions. So long listed as one of the elite players in world football by the creators of the FIFA video game, it finally looks like he has been knocked from his perch in quite a dramatic fashion - according to the EA Sports stats, he is in danger of being usurped by the likes of Neymar and Mesut Ozil. So that's a wrap for the first instalment of the FIFA 15 players who have been downgraded. What do you think - have there been a couple of surprise decisions in the EA Sports headquarters this summer? Who do you think will be featured as a downgraded player in the next instalment?
