The acquisition of Mamadou Sakho for £15 million was widely believed to have been very good business for Liverpool; though there was already a handful of solid centre backs at Anfield, the strength and relative speed of the 24-year-old meant that he had a lot to offer the side. The presence of of Agger, Kolo Toure and Škrtel at the club meant that the former PSG defender was only able to get 18 league starts but during this time Sakho showed enough to prove himself to be a solid centre back worthy of a ratings boost in FIFA 15. After a slow, somewhat flat-footed start to the season, Sakho built up momentum and proved himself to be a valuable addition to the squad. At the tender age of 24 Liverpool can expect to see the centre back continuing to improve as he garners more experience and confidence this will likely see Sakhos rating continuing to improve in titles beyond FIFA 15. Sakho was also a vital part of the French World Cup squad which surprised many by decimating Honduras and Switzerland. Sakhos leadership qualities meant that he was made the squads vice-captain, answering only to Hugo Lloris.
