The romantics of us would have loved to see the Italian lift the crown back in June, but unfortunately he was unable to stop an irresistible Barcelona winning 3-1 on that night in Berlin.
Nevertheless, for FIFA 16, the Juventus stalwart has been granted a ratings bump and comes in as the joint-seventh best 'keeper in the world. That's from EA's point of view anyway.
But they're not far wrong. Buffon is getting on a bit, but he's still top drawer.
