A wonderfully gifted footballer in real life, his high ratings in ball control, crossing, vision and dribbling all reflect this. One of the pitfalls of playing football virtually, especially FIFA, is that the physical attributes of players are more important than the mental or technical side to the game. Amalfitano is a good example of this, he is technically proficient but lacks the pace or power to really make him a top player, as well as his defensive contribution. Where his footballing brain will help him excel on the real-life football pitch, when a virtual avatar of Amalfitano is being controlled by Johnny-Sunday-League the results will be far less successful. He was used well as an impact substitute last season but still managed to make 24 appearances, but only muster 3 goals and an assist.
