They shipped way too many goals and relied far too heavily on the attacking element of the team to simply go out and outscore the opposition. With the addition of Joel Matip they've firmed the foundation up.

At Schalke last year, he was in the top 7 most accurate passers and topped the list of average defensive actions per game with 9. That's impressive work to say the least and his 81 rating is a fair one.
