FIFA 17: 25 Teenage Wonderkids You Must Sign
16. Martin Odegaard
Age: 17
Position: CAM
Growth Potential: 70-83
Cost: £ 2.2 million
In January 2015, the young Norwegian made headlines by signing for Real Madrid at the tender age of 16. There was so much hype surrounding his transfer that it was no surprise when he become Real Madrid's youngest ever debutante at 16 years 157 days old, subbed on for none other than Cristiano Ronaldo in the 7-3 demolition of Getafe. In doing so, Odegaard became one of the most overhyped wonderkids in history.
However, in FIFA 17 his stats and potential don't suggest that Martin will live up to his hype. Aside from his good dribbling, all of his other stats are distinctively average. Obviously, they can be improved upon if you invest enough time in him with endless training drills, but his growth potential is not overly reflective of his undoubted real life ability.
That's not to say that in game he is a bad player, but an upgrade in FIFA 18 to highlight his real life tag of wonderkid would be much appreciated.
