8. Tin Jedvaj

As with left-backs, FIFA 17’s RB talent pool isn’t flush with potential superstars, but Leverkusen’s Tin Jedvaj is a great low-cost option for any budding manager. He was great in FIFA 16, and he’s just as reliable in 17, and while he starts modestly at 75 overall, Jedvaj can grow all the way to 85. Furthermore, his ability to play at both RB and CB makes the Croatian a valuable utility player, and someone you’ll find yourself calling on more often than not.

His defensive stats immediately stand out. Though he starts with only jumping and aggression in the 80s, none of Tin’s key defensive numbers fall below 75, and with solid pace stats and reactions of 76, he’ll rarely be caught behind play. You’ll want to focus his training on dribbling (60), ball control (68) and crossing (67) to make him a more functional attacking player, but Jedvaj has a solid base to build on.

His price tag? A paltry £5m. There are few clubs who won’t be able to bring him in from day one, making Jedvaj a smart Career Mode signing.
