FIFA 18: 7 Players Who Can’t Be Happy With Their Rating

5. Thibaut Courtois

Meanwhile, the man who helped Chelsea to an impressive Premier League title win last season is ranked as the 4th best goalkeeper in FIFA 18. That's right, Thibaut Courtois can't get a look in and has to enviously sit outside the top 3 as Gianluigi Buffon, David de Gea and Manuel Neuer rank as EA's top trio. They're all great goalkeepers, but Courtois deserves more credit.

The fact he's a full 3 points off the top (Neuer is rated 92 overall) seems a little suspect. Courtois has only been handed a 69 for kicking, which doesn't sit right either. It's hard to pinpoint many moments in the 2016-2017 season when Chelsea were let down by Thibaut's foot work. In fact, he blatantly saved them more times than hindered his team mates.

A much fairer assessment would be ranking Courtois above Buffon, if EA's stats are to be believed. The Juventus keeper is ranked with worse reflexes, handling, positioning and weak foot skills, yet he's still ahead of the Chelsea man?
