FIFA 19: 10 Fan Demands EA Sports Must Include

7. A Deep Tactics System Like PES

PES 2018
Konami

Admittedly, tactics are not something EA have ever really focused on in FIFA. The game is more about dramatic moments than tweaking team sheets so your workmanlike Bury side can sneak a 0-0 draw away to Man City in the FA Cup. Still, the lack of depth is rather astounding.

Compared to PES, FIFA plays out with less tactical thought than the average game of Subbuteo. In Konami's title, having free reign over how every single player on the park marshals their position is a sheer joy, and it trumps FIFA's method of going 1-0 up then playing Counter Attack when the CPU inevitably pumps too many men forward.

Once the system is exploited in FIFA, it's hard to have fun unless one plays on the very highest difficulty setting. Even then, tactical nouse counts for nothing.

It'd be great to see EA put more emphasis on tactical switches in FIFA. Maybe they will now news has leaked of the dynamic weather mechanic that should (hopefully) alter how some matches play out between separate halves.
