FIFA 19: 7 Things Hardcore Fans Want From The Journey 3

6. More Real Player Cameos & Dialogue

EA Sports

Interacting with real-life footballers is a major part of The Journey's appeal. That was true in FIFA 17 when Hunter randomly bumped into Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, and it became more impressive when the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry were featured in FIFA 18.

In 19, it's paramount that EA start mimicking their fine work with Henry and get actual teammates in on the story.

Admittedly, this is tough. It'd be a bit of a risky PR exercise to cast Gareth Bale (for example) as a jealous jerk who didn't like Alex signing for Real Madrid. Still, it's a must if EA are actually going to make these stories come to life. If turning real footy stars into jealous gits isn't an option, it won't spell disaster anyway, because there are so many other directions EA can go in.

Gamers would settle for seeing other Madrid stars like Luca Modrić, Tony Kroos and Marcelo given a few lines here and there. Early gameplay footage shows that this could be the case. Making the most of player licensing is not impossible.
