FIFA 19 Demo Review: 3 Ups & 3 Downs

Ups...

3. Atmosphere Is Booming

Onto the good stuff.

First things first, FIFA 19's presentation absolutely blows Konami's workmanlike PES 2019 effort out of the water. Honestly, it's stunning stuff, and the first time you fire up that Champions League group game (regardless of the chosen teams) is a breath-taking moment.

It's not only that official UEFA anthem blaring as the teams pretend the whole world isn't watching them line up, it's the sheer majesty of the booming chants from the crowd and some neat little touches that make the occasion come to life. For example, seeing fans revel in the Champions League excitement by taking selfies before and during the match is somehow awesome.

This writer's first trial run was a 'home' game (at the Wanda Metropolitano) for Juventus against Man Utd. Immediately, the difference in styles between those supporting Ronaldo's new mob and outnumbered English fans watching their beloved Red Devils was startling.
