FIFA 19 Wishlist: 10 Things The Fans Demand
Net-busting new features it must include.
As much as FIFA fanatics are still playing the latest edition to death, many are also looking ahead to this year's entry in EA Sports' bestselling football series and salivating at the thought of yet more improvements to the award-winning formula.
If presentation, licenses and accessibility are your thing, FIFA 18 is more satisfying than a last-minute winner against your local rivals in the FA Cup final, and even though it fell short of the strategic heights of the latest Pro Evolution Soccer, the quality of the product is reflected by the fact it was the bestselling game of last year.
Despite its commercial feats and the size of its global fanbase, most FIFA enthusiasts would be the first to admit the 2018 version is by no means perfect, far from it, and they've been vocal about that on social media and forums since its release.
The fans have been drawing up wishlists and having their say about the features FIFA 19 should include, and where it can succeed where 18 flopped like Radamel Falcao's Premier League career. Here are the demands EA must take on board.
10. Even More Playable Leagues
In all fairness to FIFA 18, there is no shortage of playable leagues and cups, complete with the player licenses to accompany them, but EA will always be under pressure to deliver more, since it wants fans to part with their hard-earned cash each year.
Upwards of 30 divisions may be plenty, but there's certainly room for improvement. The Brazilian top flight, for instance, is full of generated players, and high-profile competitions such as the Chinese Super League are absent entirely.
Then there are the countries where only the top flight is represented, which means Career Mode within them is a hollow experience, with no promotion or relegation and only a handful of teams competing for the domestic cups. Scotland suffers from this problem, and a few years ago, that meant Rangers were absent from the series.
Okay, so there isn't much call to include the Scottish League One and Two in FIFA 19, although it would be useful for the purposes of giving the most skilled players a handicap when taking on their friends. Forcing your unbeatable buddy to play as Edinburgh FC while you control Barcelona would no doubt even things up.
