FIFA 20: 10 Improvements We Want To See In Career Mode
5. Playable Player Scouting
Idea: instead of relying on yo-yoing reports from scouts that deal more with player potential than what skills they have now, it'd be nice to assume control of a player for a training game to see how they play first hand. That makes way more sense, and it wouldn't be hard to carry out for EA.
They could even add in a little cut scene that shows your manager attending the game from the stand, or watching a bounce/reserve game from the side of a training pitch to get a feel for his next signing. This happens constantly in real footy, and it should be happening in FIFA 20.
The kicker would be that you'd only be able to control the player you're scouting, not the entire team, and such control would only be available in matches that didn't matter; no taking control of Man Utd and having them lose 5-0 to Brighton just so you win the league, you big cheat.
It's time EA started making scouting less about chance and more about informed decision-making.
