FIFA 21: 10 Most Shocking Ratings
5. Kevin De Bruyne
It is a testament to the season that Kevin De Bruyne had that even with Liverpool's domination of the league he was able to scoop both the PFA and Premier League player of the season awards.
Following a 2018-19 campaign that was blighted by injuries, De Bruyne returned to regular action with a bang last season, consistently providing the goods for Manchester City even when other areas of their team started to crumble. The Belgian recorded 20 assists in the league over the course of the season, equalling the record held by Thierry Henry for the most in a single season, while chipping in with 13 goals as well.
Despite his unrivalled success, EA haven't felt De Bruyne has done enough to warrant an upgrade for FIFA 21, with the 29-year-old remaining at a 91. This may be because EA have lowered the ratings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi this year and do not want any players to have equal ratings to them due to their superiority compared to the rest of the football world. While this reasoning does make sense, many will wonder what more De Bruyne could possibly have done last season to persuade EA to give his rating a boost.
