FIFA 22: 10 Improvements To Career Mode We Want To See

8. Proper Youth Teams

Another epic whinge coming right up.

FIFA's youth set up is a joke right now. It's entirely possible to cobble together a collection of mis-matched positions and call it a "youth squad", and there's no real evidence that anybody is making progress before your promote them. That, weirdly, doesn't stop teenagers from making bold demands.

Some 16-year old goalie isn't going to tell Pep Guardiola that he better promote him to the first team soon or else. The same goes for when rival clubs come in with a cheeky bid - do you accept it? After all, it's hard to find out exactly how close that player is to becoming the next Mbappé anyway. That £90,000 is tempting just to get them off the list.

FIFA 22 should come armed with a proper, fully-fleshed youth league. You should be able to send scouts off to games and find out who's doing what at a lower level. Then, when the time comes to make decisions about their careers, you'd have a better grasp on what to do.
